First Super – the Industry SuperFund for the timber, pulp, paper and furniture industry – has appointed Lisa Marty as Co-Chair.
Ms Marty is the fund’s first female Co-Chair and is also believed to be the youngest woman to Chair or Co-Chair a super fund, at age 37.
She is a former CEO of the Victorian Association of Forestry Industries and comes with almost 15 years’ experience working in the industry, and four years as a Director of First Super.
“Lisa’s appointment is another step forward for women in finance and the forestry industries,” First Super CEO Bill Watson said.
“Lisa is a highly skilled manager and consultant in the natural resource management industries, and brings a wealth of experience to the table.
“She has devoted her life to our industry and the employers and workers in it.
“First is very pleased and proud to appoint Lisa Marty as our Co-Chair.”
Lisa Marty currently works as a consultant advising on policy, technical and training issues within the industry. She is also a Director of Skills Impact. Her past directorships include the Australian Forest Products Association, and Timber Training Creswick.
Former Co-Chair Allan Stewart stepped down from the role this week, but remains a Director of the fund. He was co-chair of First Super since the fund was created in 2008.
Michael O’Connor continues to hold the other Co-Chair position.
