Annual Members’ Meeting: watch it now

First Super welcomed members and other stakeholders from across the country to its Annual Members’ Meeting on Tuesday 19 November.

The Fund hosted live events at the Jasper Hotel in Melbourne and the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club. For the first time, the event was also live streamed, so that members unable to attend in person could listen to the webinar and submit questions.

CEO Bill Watson and Board Co-Chairs Michael O’Connor and Lisa Marty updated the audience on how First Super performed over the past financial year, changes to super legislation, and what’s planned within the Fund in the year ahead.

Plenty of time was left for questions from attendees, which included how members should respond to market volatility and the expectations for investment performance in the coming 12 months.

Valuable opportunity

Of the event, First Super CEO Bill Watson said: “The event was a terrific success. I’ve had positive comments from long-term members who watched the meeting via the webinar who said it was informative and that the technology worked well.

“Our challenge for next year is to encourage more members to attend in person or to view the meeting. It offers such a valuable opportunity to understand how their super fund works and to question the people who look after the Fund.”
