First Super is an industry super fund with roots in the paper, pulp, furniture and joinery and timber industries, and the CFMEU Manufacturing division is a shareholder which represents the best interests of workers in these industries.
The Manufacturing division of the CFMEU is separate from the Construction division. The Manufacturing division has been successful in lobbying for legislative change to allow its members to vote on whether the division withdraws from the CFMEU.
Like most industry funds, our representative union – the Manufacturing division, can nominate Directors to our Board, including our Co-Chair, Michael O’Connor – the Secretary of the Manufacturing division.
First Super’s purpose continues to be delivering a dignified retirement for our members.
