First Super has added another independent director to its Board – former Victorian Government Minister Candy Broad.
Ms Broad was appointed to the Board last week. Her appointment takes to 12 the number of Directors on the Board, increases the number of independent directors from one to two, and brings to four the number of women represented on the Board.
Candy Broad is a current Director of Women’s Health Victoria, and current Director of Hepburn Community Wind Farm.
“Increasing the number of independent directors helps add diversity and depth to our Fund’s governance,” First Super CEO Bill Watson said.
“We warmly welcome Candy Broad to our Fund. As a former Government Minister for seven years, and with 15 years experience in Parliament, Candy will add a new dimension to the skills, experience and prestige of our Board.
“I have no doubt Candy’s interest in improving the lives of working people will translate very well to the governance of an industry super fund, and strongly benefit our members.”
Candy Broad served in the Victorian Parliament from 1999-2014. Her Ministerial portfolios included Housing, Local Government, Energy and Resources, and Ports.
