Community leader and successful primary producer appointed to First Super Board

First Super has appointed Djab Wurrung Elder and Indigenous leader Tim Chatfield as an independent director on its Board.

Mr Chatfield’s appointment was effective from 22 September 2017.

Mr Chatfield is currently the CEO of a successful Aboriginal controlled health clinic with a unique model, serving indigenous and non-indigenous people in regional Victoria.  He was centrally involved in establishing this community resource in 1999.

He has served with distinction on a myriad of boards and similar bodies, including as the current Chair of Aboriginal Housing Victoria, current Chair of Martang Pty Ltd, a member of the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council and the Aboriginal Stakeholder Group of the Victorian Premier and Aboriginal Affairs Minister.

First Super CEO Bill Watson said the Mr Chatfield had a tremendous track record of serving the community and working to stimulate economic development in a regional context.

As an Industry Super Fund, First Super is governed by a Board with an equal number of employer and employee representatives, as well as independent directors.
